The code of Isshinryu Karate is not only for Karate but also for everyday life.

We wish to thank everyone for the gifts and cards received for Xmas and above all for the great year, we have had at the Isshinryu Karate School.

We have looked back over the year and a lot of things have happened, the tournament in May, the summer months, the tournament in October, the Xmas party and the final workouts of 1967. All this can only be summed up as a very good year.

The board of directors have a lot of things in the mill for us this coming year, such as, the college Tournament at Central, a spring weekend in the mountains, a summer weekend at the ocean (maybe a couple), the October tournament at the Arena in Seattle just to mention a few of the things planned.

We attended the meeting of the Northwest Karate Black Belt Association on December 10th and about all that was decided at this meeting was to have another meeting in January and get down to the nitty-gritty at that meeting.

We want to take this opportunity to welcome the new members to the dojo during the month of December. Gary Raaen, Jay Savage, Louis Lopez, Craig Beachells, Tom Gallo, Dave Rivisto, Benny Hill, Andrew LePeilbet, Don Thompson, Gerald Roslie, Bud Higgins, George Burrows, and Bobby Long.

We now have adequate supplies of Isshinryu Karate patches. All members are urged to get your patch on your GIi. Also, we have the lapel pins, Karate decals, shirts and sweat shirts.

During the coming months, Ju-Kumite will be emphasized in the intermediate and advanced classes. As grantland Rice once wrote, "When the one Great Scorer comes to write against your name, He marks not that you won or lost but how you played the game."

We encourage all members to encourage their friends and assocaites to come down and watch our Karate Sessions.

Again, "67" was a good year, lets make "68" bigger and better.
